CUSTOM DATABASES & BUSINESS TOOLS

Turn scattered spreadsheets into a tool your team can use.

Keep customer history, job status, or equipment records in one searchable place. Center Point Labs builds practical business tools, cleans up and moves records, and turns existing data into useful reports.

Built for: service businesses, contractors and repair shops, ranches, venues, and nonprofits across the Hill Country.

Every project starts with a Workflow Review. Builds are quoted after it, in writing, before any work begins.

START HERE

Workflow Review · from $499

A short engagement before any build. We walk through the job, the tools you use now, and the records you keep, then put it in writing: what you have, what it should become, and what it would cost to build and run.

You receive written findings, a map of the proposed records and screens, cleanup and integration requirements, and a scoped build recommendation with build and operating costs.

Useful on its own. If an existing tool fits better, we’ll say so.

RUN THE WORK / MOVE THE DATA / UNDERSTAND THE WORK

Three distinct jobs. One practical approach.

Illustrative examples—not past client projects. Each build is scoped to your workflow.

01 / RUN THE WORK

Customer & job tools

Find a customer, see their history, update a job, and know what needs attention, in one place instead of three.

Example: A repair shop tracks equipment, previous repairs, and open jobs in one place.

Scope: one agreed workflow, the records and screens it needs, user roles, and one import. Additional workflows are scoped separately.

Typically from $2,500Discuss a records tool →
02 / MOVE THE DATA

Data cleanup & migration

Get your records out of the old system in one piece. We standardize exported records, flag likely duplicates for your decision, and move approved data where it needs to go, with a backup of the original and a written report of what moved and what still needs a call.

Example: A contractor combines customer CSVs before changing systems, then checks what moved and what still needs a decision.

Scope: source exports, destination, cleanup rules, and record volume. Building a new application is a separate job.

Typically from $750Discuss a data move →
03 / UNDERSTAND THE WORK

Reports & dashboards

Answer the questions you keep asking: which jobs are overdue, what’s open, what changed this month. Every number links back to the records behind it.

Example: A service owner sees open and overdue jobs by status and age, then opens the exact records behind each count.

Scope: sources, the questions to answer, and how often the numbers refresh. Replacing the system where records are entered is a separate job.

Typically from $1,200Discuss your reporting →
TRY THE EVERYDAY WORKFLOW

Meet Service Desk.

A small, working example: 25 fictional customers, 60 jobs, a CSV with exceptions, and reports you can check. Review and approve an import, find a customer’s history, save a job status, and drill into the updated count.

Illustrative demo, not client work. Synthetic data only. Changes persist in this browser’s local storage, not on a server, and are not shared across devices. Do not upload real customer data. A real build’s hosting and access are separately agreed.

OWNERSHIP & EXIT

Your data is yours.

Every build runs on ordinary, inspectable databases, PostgreSQL or SQLite, not a proprietary format. You can export everything, any time, as CSV or SQL. You receive the source under the standard CPL license, a documented handoff, and export instructions, so the tool keeps working for you whether or not we’re still involved.

CLEAR SCOPE FIRST

Start with the workflow, not the software.

  1. A first conversation. Walk through the job, the existing tools, and what a useful result looks like. No customer files needed for the first inquiry.
  2. A Workflow Review, from $499. Written findings, a map of the proposed records and workflow, cleanup and integration requirements, and a scoped build recommendation with build and operating costs. Useful even if you don’t go ahead. If an existing tool fits better, we’ll say so.
  3. A scoped build and handoff. Agree deliverables, build price and acceptance checks. Demonstrate the tool, reconcile imported data where applicable, and provide training, handoff and export instructions.

Projects are quoted after review. Hosting, third-party services, integrations, access permissions, and any backup or restore-check arrangement are specified in the proposal. Included records, screens and imports, usage/access, source-code and licensing arrangements, handoff, hosting/service costs and support are agreed in writing.

EXPLORE THE INTERFACE

One workspace. Many ways to work.

Interface Lab is our feature-rich UI study: linked table, card and board views, editable estimates, a multi-step quote builder, live appearance controls and a layout that adapts to your phone. Fictional data, browser-local storage, no live bookings.

AI-assisted. Personally accountable.

AI-assisted development helps us prototype and adapt your tool quickly. Nick directs the design, checks the data, tests the workflow, and takes responsibility for what ships.

Your application need not use AI or require a model subscription. Timelines are set in the review.

WORK YOU CAN EXPLORE

Supporting technical proof.

Manufacturing Intelligence

A PostgreSQL research demo with 5.4 million synthetic records across 24 linked tables, reporting, and validated CSV-import workflows. A capabilities demonstration—not a live factory deployment or packaged ERP.

Wild Focus

A working client gallery with owner administration and a SQLite-backed publishing workflow. Practical record management supporting a site its owner can keep current.

Alderlight

A database-backed photography platform with structured photo records and owner tools. The same application-building approach, shaped around a specific workflow.

Focused small-business systems and application-level database work. Enterprise database operations, 24/7 administration, and full ERP replacement are outside this offering.

Hosted builds include nightly backups; restore checks are part of Care Plus. Delivered builds include 60 free days of Care Plus, bug fixes included. Ongoing care after that is optional, from $99/month. Hosting and any third-party services are itemized in the proposal. Read scope, ownership and support terms.

Nicholas Sosa · Center Point, Texas

Under the hood.

Arch Linux on the desk. Visual Studio Code open. A terminal never far away. Here’s the working stack behind Center Point Labs—from the workstation to the edge.

01 / Interfaces
HTML, CSS, JavaScript & TypeScript. React, Next.js, Vite and Tailwind CSS where they fit. Plain HTML and JavaScript when that’s all a project needs.
02 / Applications & data
Node.js, Cloudflare Workers, PostgreSQL & D1. R2 for files and photos; Durable Objects for stateful features. The database and runtime depend on the job.
03 / Hosting & delivery
Cloudflare, Vercel & DigitalOcean. Serverless sites and APIs, plus Docker and Caddy for applications that need a server. Git tracks the work.
04 / AI & agents
OpenAI / Codex, Anthropic / Claude & OpenClaw. Used for research, design exploration, writing and revising code, debugging, and running checks. Models change as the tools evolve.
05 / Payments & integrations
Stripe, HTTP APIs & webhooks. Checkout, payment records, and connections between systems. Google sign-in and passkeys appear in projects that need them.
06 / Verification
Playwright & project-specific automated tests. Browser interactions, responsive layouts, data validation, and error paths. A mobile-size browser check isn’t the same as a test on a physical phone.
07 / Workbench
Arch Linux (rolling release) & Visual Studio Code. Linux is the daily development environment; VS Code is the editor. A MacBook Air M1 rounds out the workbench. Git, terminal sessions, Python and shell scripts keep repeatable work repeatable.
08 / Images & creative tools
darktable, GIMP, ExifTool & ImageMagick. RAW development, image editing, metadata, and web exports. Photography and visual design are part of the build, too.
09 / This website
HTML, CSS & vanilla JavaScript on Cloudflare Workers. Google Analytics is optional and consent-based. CPL checkout uses Stripe. No framework needed for this website.
10 / Silicon
AMD Ryzen 5 8600G · NVIDIA RTX 2060. Six cores / twelve threads, with a discrete GPU for the creative workload. darktable uses the RTX 2060 through OpenCL for RAW development.
11 / Delivery plumbing
Git · Wrangler · Docker · Caddy. Versioned source, Cloudflare Worker deployments, containerized server applications, and HTTPS at the server edge. Static assets where possible; APIs and persistent state where needed.
12 / Agent plumbing
OpenClaw · MCP · HTTP APIs. Tools and project context connected to an AI-assisted workflow. Public agent experiments use bounded tools for record lookups and reviewable drafts; the underlying application remains ordinary, inspectable software.

AI-assisted. Personally accountable. I direct the work, make the product decisions, and take responsibility for what I deliver. I don’t claim every line is hand-typed. The point is useful software, clear scope, and checking that it does what we agreed.

This is the working toolkit across my projects—not a claim that every site uses every tool. Client systems and data stay private.

About Center Point Labs

Lifelong spark. Modern tools. Useful software.

Center Point Labs is an independent software studio in the Texas Hill Country, operated by nicksosa.tech LLC and led by Nicholas Sosa. We build business websites, online stores, photography platforms, and tools for creators—with thoughtful design and a practical understanding of the people who will use them.

The person behind the work

Nicholas has spent a lifetime exploring, using, and building with computer software. His background includes studying computer science and working with privately owned Internet businesses in Carson City, Nevada, during the 2000s, followed by years helping people and small businesses make technology work for them.

He writes code, works directly with the underlying systems, and brings that experience to an AI-assisted development process. Today’s tools expand what an independent studio can accomplish; the spark behind the work goes back decades.

How we build

We start with the job the software needs to do: who it serves, what gets in their way, and what a successful result looks like. From there, we build working prototypes, refine the experience, and test the important paths—from a visitor’s first click to the tools an owner uses every day.

AI is an active part of that process: researching approaches, generating and revising code, exploring designs, and helping investigate problems. Nicholas directs the work and makes the product decisions. The result is a close, iterative collaboration between an experienced builder and a powerful set of development tools.

Inside the workshop

Our toolchain combines frontier AI with established software infrastructure:

The advantage is a shorter path from an idea to something you can actually try—and more opportunities to refine it along the way.

A direct working relationship

You work with the person shaping and building your software. Scope, deliverables, licensing, and ongoing costs are agreed clearly. Your content and branding remain yours, and paid packages and custom builds include 60 free days of Care Plus from handoff under our published terms. Optional care plans start at $99/month.

Built in the Hill Country. Ready for what’s next.
