rawdev
A RAW photo develop engine for Linux, built for scripts and AI agents — not a GUI app. It turns camera RAW files into JPEGs with a tone curve fitted to how your camera itself would render the shot.
v0.1.0 · open source · freeWhat it does
- RAW to JPEG for most cameras, via LibRaw.
- Camera-matched tone curve — fitted to the camera's own JPEG when you shoot RAW+JPEG, otherwise to the preview embedded in the RAW, otherwise a fixed neutral curve.
- Noise reduction with an optional GPU path that is bit-exact with the CPU path. Tested on NVIDIA and AMD.
- Built-in looks as plain TOML files — readable, editable, versionable.
Built for agents, not just people
- One JSON event per line — straightforward to parse, log, or pipe into something else.
- Dry runs before anything touches disk.
- A manifest with the SHA-256 of every input and output, so a run is verifiable after the fact.
- Documented exit codes for scripting around success, partial, and failure states.
- An OpenClaw skill, plus a ready-made prompt for building or customizing it with a coding agent.
Safety
- Never modifies or deletes originals. Every develop writes a new file.
- Won't overwrite without asking.
- Refuses to write into protected folders.
- Never rotates or crops — framing stays exactly as shot.
- Card ingest verifies every copy by SHA-256 before the card is ejected.
